Gah, I haven't updated in a while! Here are some doodles I did while thinking about my upcoming character design project (done while I should have been doing other homework..hehe). They're preliminary sketches, may or may not use or develop them, we'll see! Looking forward to working on this project (I miss the nuances of anatomy - eyebrows are so fun to draw!) Channeling some Schiele for the lanky lady.

Lam Lam
A.R.
One of two paintings for my portraiture final. My good ol' college buddy kindly posed for me <3. Playing with unresolved narratives in these two, joy joy! (Oil on 1/4" acrylic board)

Petting Zoo
Petting zoo children's book cover, style inspired by Mary Blair. Working out the colors & values was tough, still needs work, but it was fun to do! Hopefully will make time to make some final corrections on it. I LOVE gouache, so excited to paint with it this summer, woot! (Original Gouache)

The Rolling Rhino
I am IN LOOOOOOVE with gouache painting!!! I'm terribly clumsy/new at it but I can't wait to get better woo! This is a childrens' menu cover I designed and painted for my Gouache Techniques class. Struggled with color but hey, practice hopefully-one-day makes perfect :D (Original Gouache on Watercolor Board)

Bebe Gods
I wish I had a baby jackal....if it looked like these ones! :D Pattern design for a textile - probably for a bag of some sort, done for my digital class. Influenced by my love for Egyptian mythology. I think I may put this up on Spoonflower.com, print it and make a bagggiiieeee!!!

Short Story Scenes
These illustrations are from the book I wrote and illustrated in my Drawing for Illustration class with Gayle Donahue. By far one the BEST classes I have take yet, I would love to take that class every term, forever! The book is a metaphorical short story on tolerance, written in poem form much akin to a children's book. I'm going to TRY and get it published, it's quite a feat but hopefully it will work, we'll see :) Until then, be happily teased by these little ones. (Gouache, Micron Pen, Acrylic Ink, Digital)
Mean Ol' Kitty Cats
I had the opportunity to take on the "Mean Girls" assignment from Will's class as a side assignment last term, and to my delight we did cat-taurs this time! Above are a series of head designs and some later designs of the cat-taur mean girls. They evolved quite a bit from my original sketches, but the later designs with the short, stubby, wonky legs were some of my favorites by far. (Progresso pencil, Prismacolor pencil, Bond & Toned paper)
