Summertime Sketches
Summer time sketches :) Playing with styles, as usual, I'm restlessly experimental...at this point it's both a blessing and a curse -_-. I'm working on some new projects so I can hopefully get some of that stuff posted here soon! (UPDATED)

Greetings!
Just a sketchbook entry from a week or so ago :) I finally got an Instagram account so I'll be posting up some casual sketches hopefully every week (this one is up there too). Feel free to follow the madness, my username is tenyai (all my fun nicknames were taken! D:).

"Frustrated Genes"
I had the great pleasure of creating this illustration as a visual compliment to an essay written by Hiten D. Madhani, that just got published in Cell magazine this month (so I can finally post this up woo hoo!) It is a fascinating paper titled "The Frustrated Gene: Origins of Eukaryotic Gene Expression", check it out if you are interested! You can access it through Cell's website, it is from Volume 155, Issue 4 released November 7, 2013. A PDF of the article is available on the site :)

Foxorama!
Foxes everywhere! This party is a sampling from a collection of 90 fox drawings I had to do for a fantastic class assignment. I definitely will be doing more...

Purdy Pirate Heads
Aha, the first somewhat-refined sketches of pirate heads for my pirate crew assignment. I need to get my reptile anthropomorphies developed more ( the reptilian pirate crew is sadly represented here D:). Next up: more heads, physique development and costume design studies - looootttttsss of work ahead! Woo hoo!

Sneak Peak?
Gah, I haven't updated in a while! Here are some doodles I did while thinking about my upcoming character design project (done while I should have been doing other homework..hehe). They're preliminary sketches, may or may not use or develop them, we'll see! Looking forward to working on this project (I miss the nuances of anatomy - eyebrows are so fun to draw!) Channeling some Schiele for the lanky lady.
